ESPN 96.1 is proud to announce expanded programming. “The Practice Squad” with Brendan Riley and Adam Strozynski is a new podcast, uploaded every Wednesday night on the iHeart radio app. The duo are familiar to those who listen to Big Drew and Jim, afternoons 3:00-6:00pm, as “Stroz” produces the show in Detroit on 1130 WDFN while Brendan can be heard as a regular fill in co-host and producer in West Michigan.
The podcast will give another outlet to sports fans in Michigan who want more on demand content.“We are talking Detroit sports but you know I’m going to need to squeeze some of my food love in and Stroz has already bought his baby oil in bulk so you won’t be missing out on any of our personality,” Said Riley. Strozynki agrees with the vision saying“I think this podcast will allow B and myself to show more of our personality and allow us to connect with the listeners of the Big Drew and Jim show as well reach out to a new audience that wants a fun and serious look at Detroit Sports as well as topical issues that occur every day.”
“Both of these guys are talented members of the Big Drew and Jim family and this podcast will give them a chance to really shine. I’m most excited because of the natural contrast of their personalities. The organic conflict will make for an entertaining listen,” says ESPN 96.1 Program Director Jim Costa.
Brendan said of working with Adam, “Talking to Stroz is like riding a roller coaster blindfolded. I very much like to keep my feet on the ground and my eyes open so I think we will have a constant pull on each other.”
